The project
An overgrown back garden turned into a place to live outside. The collapsing timber shed came down and a flat-roof garden room went up in its place, clad in cedar and render under a sedum roof, with steel-framed glazing onto the terrace. A sunken lounge sits around a linear fire pit, with built-in seating and a porcelain terrace that runs the width of the plot. Cedar planters soften the edges, and the back of the house gained dark-framed sliding doors to match.
