Detached house

Modernised, front to back

A tired detached house given a new face. Through-colour render with a band of natural stone, dark aluminium windows and a single-storey side extension with full-height glazing. The driveway relaid in resin-bound gravel.

A dated detached house with pebbledash and a mature front garden, before renovationBefore
The same detached house at dusk after rendering, with the lights on only in the side extension featuring a central rooflight and symmetrical feature glazingAfter

Single-storey kitchen extension

Family living space to the rear

A semi-detached family home that simply needed more space. A modest single-storey rear extension in matching brick, with bifold doors opening onto the garden and rooflights over a new kitchen-diner.

Single-storey rear extension

A rear ground-floor addition

The same renovated rear on a sunny day, with a modern white and grey kitchen, partly open slim-framed bifold doors, a roof lantern and contemporary cedar fencingAfter

Extending a modern home

An addition that matches

The house was already modern and in good order. We designed a single-storey rear extension in the same render and grey frames, with a roof lantern and sliding doors, so it reads as part of the original.

Wrap-around extension

A side return opened up

A ground-floor side and rear extension creating an open-plan kitchen and family room, opening onto a sandstone courtyard to the rear.

A dated side return with a weathered lean-to and worn paving, before workBefore
A fully renovated brick house with new windows and fascia, a contemporary wrap-around extension, corner glazing and a paved courtyardAfter

Single-storey side extension

Ground-floor side extension with front porch

A single-storey side extension with front porch in matching brick and roof tiles, finished so neatly it looks like it was always there.

The same rendered semi-detached home on a brighter day with an integrated side extension, apex entrance porch, resin-bound driveway, new front wall and charcoal composite fencingAfter

Full refurbishment

A living room designed to bring the outside in

Oak floors, lime-plaster walls, warm walnut acoustic panelling and a stone fireplace with an inset wood-burner, in place of dated finishes.

Garden

Built for living outside

An overgrown back garden turned into an outdoor room, with a paved terrace, a sunken seating area and a garden room where the old shed stood.

Planning amendment

From flat drawings to a model

A split-level home over a Pontypridd hillside, drawn in 2D for planning and rebuilt in 3D so the scheme can be walked before it is built.
